I am so discourage because I have been now working out and getting in shape for almost 1 year and I feel great but I just discovered today that what I have in my belly bottom is a hernia supposedly due my two pregnancies. My 2nd baby is 18 month-old and this came out now. My doctor told me that the only way to fix it is by surgery but they won't operate until there is a major problem. So I am stuck because I cannot workout freely even though my doctor did not mention that I could not exercise or that I should avoid certain exercised but for what I have read, I guess I have to avoid working the abdominal area. I don't know what to do....now when I was getting there, being happy, in total shape, my muscles and my whole body getting tone, speeding up my metabolism (I burn 1515 cal at rest time) and I have 15% body fat, and now this...What should I do???
I love the 20 minute abs workout! It's tough, but judging by how sore I am, I'm thinking it's targeting the whole ab area. My only problem is that it will take me a while to get my balance while doing some of the moves.
Just got the January issue:
Where are my perforated cards?! I LOVE my perforated workout cards! Please don't take them away!!!
You too i keep getting that as well.
I hate it when I get the message:
We're so sorry!
The page you've requested was not found on this server.
I was so embarrassed that Ashley Simpson was on your cover I tore it off to read it on the bus so no one would think I was a fan of the non-talented, drunken B lister, fame whore. Funny thing, I found out this morning that my co-worker did as well !!!!!! HINT HINT!!!!
I have been trying to find cute inexpensive workout clothes, Not a bra I know those are an investment. I wish the would do an article about workout gear. Any advice from anyone on where to find this stuff? I know I shouldnt put my email up but its an old account so if anyone has any tips its nikki14348@msn.com Thanks!
I'm VERY disappointed that Women's Health removed the 'You Lose, You Win!' feature out of the recent issue. This is one of the first features I search for when I get the magazine in the mail. It is very inspiring, I always thinkg, "That will be me some day!" Bring it back!
Does anybody have any experience with either of these two Bowflex treadmills. Trying to decide and was just looking for a positive and negative of the two. Thanks!

I am LOVING the little pull out cards with the supersets on them. I can bang out the entire workout in 30 minutes and I'm completely exhausted afterwards!! GREAT workouts and really useful! Keep 'em coming!
Its a great post about woman's health, fitness, yoga, and beauty..It is very important for women to keep them health and good looking..this post may help them.thanks
I was very happy to read the food section this month with recipes from Mark Bittman!!
Normally I skim the food section but move on fairly quickly because I'm not interested in which prepackaged food I should chose over another, or mixing a bag of frozen veg with a can of something and a chicken breast(I don't eat fast food or heavily processed food, and I would imagine that most other readers are serious enough about their health that they don't either).
I hope WH continues to include healthy recipes from expert cookbook writers/chefs.
ARTICLE IDEA
With Women's Health as my primary source for the latest health and fitness information, with the implementation of many of WH fitness routines, and the help of an online calorie counter (I like The Daily Plate), I have finally reached my desired weight (hooray!). For about the past five months, I have been on a 1500 calories/day diet and have been going to the gym at least 5 days/week (I do cardio, strength training, and flexibility training). I want to continue to refine my body and my fitness level, but I don't need to lose anymore weight.
So now what?
With so much focus put on losing the weight, I need a few articles on what to do once I've lost it. Should I gradually up my calorie intake to about 2000/day or can I basically do it over night? If gradually is the way to go, are there some foods I should increase first or maybe more quickly than others? (I have actually kept a very well-rounded diet. I generally get all my daily requirements from all of the food groups, I just currently do it from the lower end of the spectrum; i.e. we are told to get 2-3 servings of fruit, 3-5 of veggies, 6-8 of grains, etc. and I opt for 2, 3 and 6, respectively.) Are "cheat days" still beneficial in anyway? Will an extra cupcake at my nephews birthday party potentially hurt me just as much or do I have a little extra wiggle room for the occasional indulgence? Obviously I still want to maintain healthy eating habits, but do I need to worry about all these foods that are said to rev my metabolism? Can I cut out my interval training or at least reduce it? I read all the time about things that will help me lose weight ~ if I don't need to lose anymore weight, should/could I still do them or should I actually maybe even avoid some of them?
I have so many questions. It only seems natural that there would be endless, unforeseen differences for what one should do while trying to lose weight and what one should do after having lost it. I imagine that not only could one article be written on the subject but it could easily become a series of articles (one on transitioning to a lifestyle of losing weight to a lifestyle of maintaining, one on strictly maintaining, one on what to do if you see yourself regaining, etc.). Obviously I can still get plenty of useful information out of WH in every area of health and fitness that it covers. But with so much of it catering to weight *loss*, I often find myself having to read between the lines to make some of the information applicable to me. I am so grateful for and appreciative of all the help and support WH has provide. I can honestly say it was a key component in me "get there". How about a little help with adjusting to being "here"?
With the economy in crisis, I was disappointed and annoyed to see in my newest edition clothing such as tank tops selling for over $200.00. I believe most of us are on a budget and I find this somewhat over the top. How about researching a little and showcasing a more realistic clothing at reasonable prices.
for EDDIE2004, i am very suprised that you put an ad looking for a relationship. you sound interesting, but hat kind of women are you looking for cause alot of men want skinny, athletic and so on. so please let me know. Epiphany.....

P.S. For your personality type, there's always REDBOOK.
TANIABREARD... If you have to edit what your husband reads, you obviously have many issues that WH will never help solve. I personally find it appalling that you say "We made the decision for me to edit it"... Who would ever want their partner to sensor what they read? If he can't decide what is appropriate for himself, you may be just a tad too controlling anyway... so WH editors should take your criticism with a grain of salt. If you knew anything about the history of this publication, you would know they changed their style and starting coverpaging celebrities bc subscribers were demanding them... me not included... but I at least understand that they listen to their customers and do what they can to appease them. WH: you're doing a great job. Of course everyone has their opinion of how it could be better, but you can't perfectly please everyone. Keep up the good work!
Providing information about diet and fitness is awesome and helpful. However, women are not going to make the choice to be healthy physically if they are not emotionally and psychologically healthy.
Isn’t WH about empowering women to be their best? So, shouldn’t the articles be about educating women so they may recognize what is healthy? It isn’t healthy for any woman at any age to think she needs to be someone else to be acceptable so why continue to throw celebrities at women as though achieving star status is the epitome of success? Step up – show real women of all ages. I’m forty three and have been involved in fitness for over twenty years. I don’t need some twenty year old model whose body is only privileged by youth to show me how I should look to be attractive and the acceptable measure of beauty and sexuality.
“Real” successful women are smart and disciplined about the choices they make and their commitment and dedication to being healthy makes them beautiful regardless of their shell and age.
Age shouldn’t be an evil culprit that steals the power of a woman’s confidence and sexuality. If the higher percentages of your readers are in their twenties and thirties then shouldn’t you, at a minimum, encourage their choices by helping to educate them for their life and not just their age? Take your readers from youth to maturity by educating them about the importance of what it means to make smart choices not only for today but for longevity and quality of life for the rest of their lives.
The magazine would make huge strides by applauding all types of women instead of trying to paint a specific picture that is limited and juvenile.
Rodale press does MF as well as Prevention and it would be nice to read consistency in all their publications toward educating their readers for health and hopefully happiness. There is a disturbing inconsistency in the articles I have read that I find very frustrating.
Stick to a moral compass that isn’t swayed by some middle school mentality to stay popular. That includes articles on “getting some” because being in a monogamous relationship is a must for individuals to be healthy (and that includes men;) stop throwing celebrities at your readers as though their pathetic lives will never measure up to such status but you are going to assist them in living vicariously through someone else’s success. I have been a subscriber to Prevention for some time, but I have stopped reading it as much because it is over loaded with booklets to solicit books instead of providing more in-depth information in the magazine that has already been purchased for content.
I read MF regularly for my husband. We made the decision for me to edit it because so many of the articles and content make me think they want to be in competition with Maxim. The nutrition and fitness articles are supreme, but the sophomoric articles are contradictory to some of the articles they run such as “What secrets are you keeping?”
Come on, does a man really need to think every women wants him and should the magazine be promoting such a pathetic attitude for men to embrace? That’s right, Men’s fitness is the brother magazine to WH that perhaps your boyfriend or husband is reading.
Step it up! Make up your mind what it means to truly be healthy. It all starts in the head and it does require commitment to doing what is “right” in all areas of a person’s life and existence.
I have been a subscriber to WH for 2 months now. In each issue I have found an item you advertise in your shopping guides...a cool pair of sandals from cutesygirl.com and a pretty scarf from Old Navy. When I go to their sites to buy them, there is no such product. What's up with that!?!
I think you have the most cunningly designed website, esp. when it comes to the daily contest. We don't have to enter our info every single day. Please thank your web design staff for making it easy to drool over your cool products. Also, the layout is very inviting, and the info very targeted and interestingly presented.
I'd like to see WH post green and animal-friendly alternatives to its suggestions for lotions, face creams, shampoos, etc.
Does anyone know of a Canadian Magazine equivalent to WH? I believe that there isn't one. But I could be wrong. I would easily switch from this mag if there is. I think it's unrespectful to your Canadian subscribers to be omitted to your WIN prizes! Since we obviously contribute to WH's ability to obtain these prizes. This does not happen with Canadian Elle prizes! Shame on you! This is the second disappointment I've had with this magazine this month. The first being that stupid "gift" book and CD.
to TG78 I just found the greatest sportsbra, brand new in Goodwill of all places. I have a large older bust(saggy!) and this bra is really comfortable. It is two bras in one, and is called MAIA high impact, made by Moving Comfort bra's it has wide straps like a tank top and no adjustmants on the straps to cause rubbing, it does not flatten you either which I really like, hope this helps merryrose7@comcast.net
I agree with ErinDaniels.
I would much rather they do covers on the average woman out there than famous people. These women have enormous amounts of money compared to me-I'd like for them to find someone average and just inteview them. They do like a mini-inteview, but I would like to see a cover of them or something.
i am a new subscriber to wm and i have to say that i am extremely disappointed. my husband subscribes to mh and i enjoy reading that more than wh. i was extremely disappointed to find the same recipe for the Moroccan chicken stew which was in the mh issues months ago. I feel that mh is very informational and helpful. i don't like the articles....it's almost like the editors are trying to fill up the pages with huge images and not enough useful information.
HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

Hello fellow Canadians! Just thought I'd reply to your questions about why there are never any Canadian winners. It states in the official rules that the sweepstakes are only open to residents of the U.S. If you want to be a winner, I'd suggest entering contests from Canadian magazines!
Cheers
I've been a fan of Women's Health for a couple of years now and the last 2 issues I've noticed a unpleasant difference.
The front cover has famous people. I am truly disappointed with this. One of the reasons I liked WH was for the fact that there were beautiful fit unknown women on the covers. It made it seem like an attractive health body was more achievable. Now, I understand that the women on previous covers were probably models themselves. But we all know that those famous people/movie stars have personal trainers that the average woman could never afford. I don't know gals I'm rethinking the magazine now. I'm so tired of seeing famous people and their lifestyles! Where are all the AW who work so hard for a healthy lifestyle? Shouldn’t they be showcased?? Famous people don't always sell.
I love Women's Health and after years of buying it off the shelf I decided to subscribe. I was dissapointed be finding SEVEN subscription cards in each issue that is sent out in the mail. As a magazine that focuses on all issues affecting women, icluding the environment, I think this is a little much. No one needs SEVEN cards in every issue especially the ones that are sent out by subscription, obviously we already subscribe...we don't need the card to send in! It seems like such a waste of paper and I just think of how much could be saved if only one or two cards were sent out with the magagzine. Or none at all since this day in age I am sure it is possible to subscribe online which is much more environment friendly.
Shame on Women’s Health! Can an article in your magazine not be crude and juvenile? Simple articles seem to have as many off color references as you can muster and it is truly unnecessary. Men's mags (real ones anyway) don't do this why do women’s mags have to be offensive to be "hip"?? Just stop it. The crudeness insults my intelligence and shows that the vocabulary of the writers is lacking.
anyone have any advise on a great sports bra?
where are the winners from Canada?? never see any???? is it worthwhile doing this 'WIN'-
maybe i never will?????
thanks pamwatts2@yahoo.ca
Last year I lost 30 lbs due to a traumatic event in my life and WH has helped me keep the weight off ever since! Thanks WH!
I have been with WH exactly one year and received my renewal notice with the October edition. I was just wondering if I REALLY needed to renew, did I have the time to read it, was it REALLY worth it... then I opened up October and was reminded once again that I don't think I could go through a single month without it! I renewed online that night!
Hello. I've noticed that for your contests, there are no winners from Canada, so does that mean that it's a waste of time for me to be entering from Canada?
I'm a new subscriber to Women's Health and I love it. I've read Men's Health before and I liked that, but I really love the fact that us women now have our own magazine. I like the workouts, but can we please have more that don't require a bunch of accessories, or machines? Most of us don't have room for a full blown gym, but we do have a patio that can be utilized for workouts. I like the recipes, the health stuff and especially the pull out workout books - more please! I also visit the website daily - love the give aways! Keep up the good work WH!
Women's Health,
You should be ashamed of yourselves!! The Mona Lisa smoking a postcoital cigarette? Pavlov's Pussy? Come on you are NOT supposed to be Cosmo! That's why I subscribe, I thought you were a more wholesome publication that the whole family could read. I hope your future issues aren't smut in Women's Health clothing or you might have 1 less reader.
JHG Idaho
I have been a loyal Cosmopolotian reader for the past 4 years, but randomly picked up my first ever Woman's Health today and was blown away. I've been reading my boyfriend's Men's Health magazine for the past year, so I should have known it would be amazing..But I had no idea! Keep up the good work :)
